a steady flow is one in which conditions ( velocity , pressure and cross - section ) may differ from point to point but do not change with time whereas if the conditions changes then it is called unsteady flow ..

Steady flow means at a particular point each particle should possess same velocity whereas in unsteady flow at a particular point every particle have different velocity at same point

If a flow is such that the properties at every point in the flow do not depend upon time, it is called a steady flow. If the flow is one where the properties do depend on time then it is known as unsteady flow .
