Ask a Question
I am glad someone asked this question.
Going for JEE coaching for 2 years would be the best suggestion from my side. Yes, it is orthodox. But it is the most sought after way to crack the JEE. People work wonders in these 2 years and following a proper path, they come with flying colors and achieve the goal of getting selected in their first attempt.
I have seen many who realize the need for coaching at a later stage or they are just too casual about it. They would take part in all school activities and after a certain point of time realize that CBSE studies won't help them much in preparing for the most sought after engineering entrance exam. There may be financial reasons as well, but most of the time students don't want to come out of their comfort zones.
Those who take this decision and join a coaching may undergo the following difficulties during the year -
1) When teacher says 'This was told to you in 11th' and you are facepalmed 10 times in a class.
2) When other students nod over every concept of class eleventh of which you have just heard the name and haven't applied in any questions.
3) Completing the syllabus of two years in one year and meet the expectation of getting selected in the first attempt.
4) Just when you realize that you are getting the feel of coaching, Pre-Boards and Boards come up and the Great Indian Board Family Drama begins.
5) You have to work day in and day out to cope up with the syllabus of two years.
6) The doubts you get are many and when you ask them, you realize they were too petty and no one else in the class had them.
7) While everyone is shouting (Done)', you are like, How?? But you have to shout the same.
Yes, you are treated like a 13th student. But then you were late in taking the decision. Also, your ambitions of getting selected in an year has to be kept in mind and fulfilled by your respective coaching institutes. So you have to work day in and day out in any case.
