Why is Yakshagana not listed in the official classical dance forms of India?

Practicing Bharatnatyam since 18 years, completed vidwath in it. Looking for dedicated student

Yakshgana is a folk dance drama of india and not classical dance form. Bharat muni author of natya shastravidhim said to be father of dance mentioned 7 forms of classical dance wiz, Bharathanatyam, kathakali, kuchipudi, odissi, kathak, mohiniyattam, manipuri. Yakshagana will come under folk form.
