Note,in above sentences ' Vishwanath'is a noun(proper noun) .It is a waste of time to write 'Vishwanath' again in next sentences when the person being referred to in them is the same.So we use a pronoun 'he' in 2nd and 3rd sentences in place of the noun-'Vishwanath'. Vishwanath is a boy. He goes to school. He goes to school by the school bus. Clear. read less

Pronouns are nothing but the substitutes used for nouns. For example, instead of using a name 10 times in a conversation, we use he/she.
