Hi Vishwanath. Noun is the name of any person ,place ,animal or a thing e.g.boy ,child ,school, hotel, station, cat, dog, bird, book, mirror, car. Pronouns are words used in place of Nouns in a sentence.e.g.he,she,it,they,him,her,them. See the usage: Vishwanath is a boy. Vishwanath studies in a school. Vishwanath goes to school by bus. Note,in above sentences ' Vishwanath'is a noun(proper noun) .It is a waste of time to write 'Vishwanath' again in next sentences when the person being referred to in them is the same.So we use a pronoun 'he' in 2nd and 3rd sentences in place of the noun-'Vishwanath'. Vishwanath is a boy. He goes to school. He goes to school by the school bus. Clear. read less
