Hi Fathima, Speak a lot and loudly - that is the first rule. Read English stories form children's books such as Campak. this will help you in Learning new words + sentence structures. Watch cartoon shows on TV, YouTube. - this will help you in learning the way of speaking. Thanks, Ravi

Being conscious and aware while communicating is of utmost importance. Start communicating with yourself more positively and accept yourself. And slowly shift the same energy to others. Listening is of greatest importance in communication. Almost 50% of our communication comprises of listening but we hardly listen we only hear voices and while we are hearing we think and filter all what is said as per our convenience and beliefs. Body language gestures play next important part in communication and our thoughts and state of mind determines our body language. Then comes the words and emotions into picture. So communication is not easy as it seems and not effective and complete as we assume it to be in our life. I can't put everything into this small section .But tried to give gist of it in nutshell. read less

One has to be a reasonably voracious reader to enhance the vocabulary and then keep on practising incessantly your verbal /written communication skills.Daily reading of English newspaper is of great help in this regard.Writing letters to the Editor and personal diary , one can surely sharpen the written communication skills.Any opportunity of public speaking, formal or informal, should be grabbed with both hands, without any hesitation or apprehension. And regular guidance and moral support of an experienced person can be very beneficial in this learning process. In my experience, one can be reasonably proficient in communication skills within 6/8 months if sincere efforts are made on the above lines. BEST OF LUCK IN YOUR ENDEAVOUR!!! read less

Step 3 - Have a Journal - It's not exactly writing a dairy - It's like documenting the good things that happened that day - in English Step 4 - As Ravi said, read story books that you like...read it aloud... you can record and listen. Step 5 - As Siddharth said, start speaking with people... additional - if you like to sing, practice songs in English this would gradually increase and reduce your MTI while communicating in English. this is the prescribed exercise for 30 days for your wonderful kick start. Habits to inculcate: Listen (knowledge acquisition), Speak (breakthrough monotony, strike conversation with different folks from all walks of life), Video & Audio record and self evaluate.
