H C Verma is good but it's advanced level book. You can follow Pradeep or Resnick Halliday to get the basics clear and these books are good if you're preparing for any competitive exams. Get in touch if you want further help.

You can follow H C Verma but it's bit advanced. If you want to make your foundations strong then follow Resnick Halliday or Pradeep. Both are good for competitive exams too.

NCERT Physics book should be your first book to read if you have not read any higher secondary physics book earlier. It is good enough to crack competitive exams as well if you sincerely solve the exercises. Done with this you can go for HC verma and then read Pradeep's or some other. I would suggest to go for arihants books for IIT JEE instead of Pradeep's if u are looking for that level of expertise in the subject. Dont go for HC Verma at first. You will not get enough conceptual explanations. HC Verma's book has some really great exercises to solve but go for it only if you are done with basic concepts. All the best read less
