Hi Swarna, any ellipse is horizontal (elongated along x-axis) if its semi-major axis is greater than semi-minor axis (a>b) in canonical equation of ellipse i.e. x2/a2 + y2/b2 = 1, if b>a then it looks vertically elongated and a=b it is circle.
