The definition of ampere is the consistent current which is known to maintain on parallel conductors of a cross-section that is circular of the length and which is infinite and which is placed one meter apart from a known vacuum, which in turn is known to produce two conductors that possess the force that is equal to 2 times the 10>-7 newton/m of the given length. In a simpler sense, one ampere can be understood by coulomb divided by time as in 1 second. It is the total flow of charge of 6.242e18 electrons per second, Hope this helps read less

1 ampere is defined as the constant current which, if maintained in two straight parallel conductors of infinite length, of negligible circular cross-section, and placed 1 metre apart in vacuum, would produce between these conductors a force equal to 2×10 to the power -7 newton per metre of length.
