Mass is the amount of matter present in a body while weight is a measure of how strongly gravity pulls on that matter. mass is independent of everything but weight is different on the earth, moon, etc
Comments

Weight W = mass x acceleration due to gravity. Mass is always fixed but weight can vary depending upon its geographical location deciding the gravitational acceleration.

1) Mass is a measurement of the amount of matter something contains, while Weight is the measurement of the pull of gravity on an object. 2) Mass is measured by using a balance comparing a known amount of matter to an unknown amount of matter. Weight is measured on a scale. 3) The Mass of an object...

A truck full of cotton and steel can have same mass but they will weigh different. As mass is what an object is made of while Weight is how strong its pulled towards earth (or other object).

Mass is the amount of substance inside a body it is generally measured in Kg/gm etc. Weight is the defined as mass X gravitational force , Which means when mass is pulled by gravity it becomes weight of body. Note* Mass of the body/object is constant through out the Universe , where as the weight will...

Mass is the amount of substance inside a body it is generally measured in Kg/gm etc. Weight is the defined as mass X gravitational force , Which means when mass is pulled by gravity it becomes weight of body. Note* Mass of the body/object is constant through out the Universe , where as the weight will change according to value of Gravitational force. Example suppose your mass is 10 KG so your weight on Earth will be 10 x 9.807 kg, where as at Moon your weight will be 10 X 1.622 Kg , (1.622 and 9.807 are gravitational force of planets). When mass is multiplied with Gravitational Force it becomes weight. read less
