In mechanics, length, mass and time are chosen as the base quantities due to the following reasons: 1- Length,mass and time are the simplest units. 2- These quantities can't be derived from one another. 3- All otherquantities can be expressed in terms of length, mass and time.

Because they are the fundamental quantities based on these quantities there are derived quantities For example Acceleration which is a derived quantitiy from length and time I.e. with unit m/s2 Similarly force is derived quantity from mass,length and time I.e. with unit kg m/s2
