Electrochemistry is an independent chapter doesn't link much with other chapters except redox reaction to some extent. So it will not cause problem to other chapters if you leave it for now but remember it's weightage is very high in the exam. So cover it before exam

Electrochemistry is very much important for students particularly at higher secondary level, because it plays a crucial role in understanding many real-world applications and scientific concepts. Here are some reasons why it's significant: (A) Understanding Everyday Phenomena: Electrochemistry explains processes students encounter daily, such as how batteries power devices, the role of corrosion in metals, and the functioning of electroplating. Electrochemistry forms the basis for advanced studies in chemistry, physics, and engineering, particularly in fields like energy storage (batteries) and renewable energy (fuel cells).. (C) Environmental Relevance: It helps students understand important environmental issues, like pollution caused by rusting metals, and provides solutions, such as the use of corrosion-resistant materials. (D)Technological Innovation: Electrochemistry is integral to developing new technologies, such as electric vehicles and sustainable energy sources, which can inspire students to explore careers in science and technology. (E) Promotes Critical Thinking: Studying electrochemistry encourages analytical thinking and problem-solving, as students learn to balance chemical equations, predict outcomes, and apply concepts to practical situations. In short, learning electrochemistry broadens students' understanding of science and its practical applications, making it essential for their academic and professional growth. read less
