For separation of iron pins from sand most suitable technique is magnetic separation where a magnet is used to attract iron out of sand.

Magnetic separation would be most suitable as sand will be left out when a magnet is hovered over the mixture and the pins are attracted by the magnet and get attached to it.

What do you think would be the observation if the ? -particle scattering experiment is carried out using a foil of a metal other than gold?
Gold was chosen for particle scattering experiment as it is highly malleable( can be beaten into thin sheets) and ductile( can be drawn into thin wires). Atoms and molecules are much much tinier than sand...

Why when a ball dropped from a height, its speed continuously increased?
the potential energy gets converted into kinetic energy so obviously yes. as velocity is the only variable , as the height decreases, there should be a corresponding increase in the velocity. (potential energy = mgh, kinetic energy = 1/2 mvxv
