Start with listening to some good Indian English. I say this because you will get bugged if you start listening to a native speaker initially. Listen to the AIR English mews and stuff like that. If you are trying to listen from a TV, don't read the scroll. When you don't understand a word or feel unclear... ...more
Start with listening to some good Indian English. I say this because you will get bugged if you start listening to a native speaker initially. Listen to the AIR English mews and stuff like that. If you are trying to listen from a TV, don't read the scroll. When you don't understand a word or feel unclear about the meaning of a word, look into a standard English to English dictionary and read the entire content. But the most important thing is to never let go an opportunity to speak in English. Also it is all the more important that you keep creating those opportunities. Focus on where you want to go, ignore the noise from the sides. Listening improves your pronunciation. Looking into the dictionary improves your vocabulary. Speaking gets the practice required. It will require time, as it is a quality and not a quantifiable thing. All the Best!
