I assume that you refer to common entrance test after 12th; Two years regular preparation along with the regular Junior college exams is the basis. Invest on good books and be regular in practice time (Same place, Same time).

If you are the average student concentrate on any basic books like ncert etc try to understand the meaning between the lines put atleast 4 to 5 hrs of productive study regularly.

Secondly look for coaching where already (MH -CET , IIT , AIEEE ) qualified and graduated people are teaching ( e.g Edubro academy - Faculty from IIT , NIT and IIM ). Once coaching starts try to get all conceptual knowledge ( done by relating all subjects with our day to day life processes or activities). and at last, practice all previous year questions as well new questions ( we provide 200 questions after each topic .. beside that monthly test and booklets ) as much you can. Good strategy, as you started to think of cet in 1st pu level.. Weightage Pu1:25% Pu2:75% According to this plan you have to prepare,best bools to prepare for cet is "modern abc publication" aipmt books by satish chandra ....cost around 4000/- gor set of 4 books

Preparing for CET is not a preety big deal, regularity in studies is basic key to crack the CET, Make sure u atleast study an hour during initial days, And refer some good refrence books
