it is represented by COS PHI

In case of a pure resistor, the angle between the voltage and current is equal to zero hence power factor is one.

In case of a pure INDUCTOR, the angle between the voltage and current is equal to 90 DEGREE hence power factor is ZERO.

In case of a pure CAPACITOR, the angle between the voltage and current is equal to 90 DEGREE hence power factor is ZERO.
