Depends on various facts such as the regional interest by music enthusiasts and authorities who conducts programmes, fan/rasikas base, govt authorities/organisation who promotes programmes/events.

The source is neither carnatic, nor indhusthani or western but something predated which is all one source dispersed settled with new names. Music is one but the music style gives you a identity. Carnatic music is our idenity and we are all proud of it. In short, it is always evergreen on the other side and a child who are default into the tradition of carnatic music see other music evergreen and move out of it thinking it is more beautiful. read less
