It is relevant to other types of music also in as much as it is helpful to differentiate the types of Ragas. «less

Carnatic concentrates more on taala...whereas hindustani music is more on raaga and it's aalap

Vinod replied | 22/04/2016

The presentation style for vocal and instrumental differs. Carnatic music is compared to a King in dynasty by its own style of singing the swaras.. Hidusthani Music is compared to the queen in dynasty by its own style of singing light, soft, classical and gentle.

which type of flute should a beginner buy ? Am very much interested to learn carnatic flute

0 0

Natanapriya replied | 07/04/2016

Normally B natural or C natural are suggested to start with but G# is suggested once you finish Alan karas

0 0

Bilvaa replied | 05/07/2016

G is easy to blow and get a good clear sound, if you are a beginner. The lower pitches like B, C will need more force for blowing, and the beginners can also get discouraged as more 'woofy' sound may come instead of a musical note, when you blow. I would recommend G. If someone feels G is very shrill and loud (usually for neighbours comfort and other family members comfort) they can try F.
