Raktim Dey

I am a 15+ years trained Indian Classical Vocalist, trained by Jayanta Sarkar, a teacher from Shruti Nandan Institute of Indian Classical Music. I have ample experience in professional vocals and have been a stage performer since a very young age. Have experience in playback music. I am also a music composer/producer so I have knowledge of soundscaping for which I can help students with tracks for home excercise or karaoke for helping them to perform on stage or social media. I am familiar with guitar playing and have knowledge of tabla (double distinction certified) alongside various other Indian instruments.

As a Vocal Music and Music Composition Teacher at Urban Pro, I take pride in being recognized as a Super Tutor due to my top-ranking status. 🎶 With a B.Com degree and over 20 years of musical experience, I bring a unique blend of musical training and teaching expertise to my students.

My musical journey includes 17 years of Indian Classical vocal training and 2 years of Western vocal training, mentored by some of the finest instructors from prestigious institutions. I’ve also performed on Akash Bani Bhavan for 5 years and freelanced as a playback singer across 30 countries. This extensive experience allows me to provide insights that enhance not only vocal skills but also personal growth.

Teaching Philosophy
In my classes, I focus on creating a conversational and engaging environment, which helps build strong relationships with my students. I guide them through the basics of vocal training, addressing any questions they may have and ensuring they grasp the concepts thoroughly.

Training is my passion. Apart from music I am also a Training & Development Manager of Tata Consultancy Services due to my capabilities of training so I have mastered various techniques to bring out the best out of my students.

Alongside Indian Classical music I can also train studio techniques to help my students record songs and become a professional playback singer. I am also a social media influencer which allows me to help my students build a career in the digital industry.

To summarise, my students will have a wonderful training journey with me due to some of my personal attributes like compassion, patience, sense of humor, leadership abilities and philosophical ideas.
