B.Sc (Computers) and a (All India Rankholder) CA.

I am an expert in MS excel and can help you get the required skills in data analysis, reporting & presentation in MS excel. This is not a sure way to get the job in the field required by you. But, it would certainly be an added feature in your CV and will help you in any job interviews.

You need to pick a few domains to do R&D in data. Catch on with courses on Statistical Analysis/ Machine Learning/ Web Data fetching (.Net, Python, Kali Linux, Php). For example Machine Learning for Robotics is different than Statistics for Pharma, which is different from Web Analytics... SaS, Matlab and R, Microsoft BI are forerunners of Tools in the Industry. You don't need all tools , but some tools specific to Industry to land on the technical side, which will be somewhat similar to Engineers providing support for specified tools at a Kpo or more certainly like a cut-copy paste job with thorough understanding of the more complex methodology involved -- helping maintenance and reiteration of an existing BI process. Again, the tools here means both methodology and Software skills. Moving on to further technical will need time, continuous learning efforts, innovation (Co-authoring a few research papers) and patience. For example a PhD can land you into roles needing a specialized understanding of data and related Numerical Methods. By the latter, I mean roles as a scientist inside Mathworks, IBM, SaS and the like. However, with all modesty, one might change fields or choose to give the R&D a chuck to graduate into Management roles in the industry, after some experience. Watch out for free courses (eg Courseera), and go to Industrial meets before making your mind on training which is quite expensive. Joining Freelance Consulting networks as well as freelance sites isn't a bad idea to fill the time between training and landing on the job. read less
