Hey! Well, it's strange to ask after 6 years of industrial experience, I am at nowhere and doesn't know where to guide my career towards. I have done Designing (Automotive-Bus Body), Marketing (Hydraulics tubes & fittings), Production Planning & Control (Packaging) for different industries as stated in brackets. Please help me pull out of this dilemma about my career. I have done Mechanical Engineering(B.E) and MBA in Operations.

Hey Manu, Working in different industries can only be useful if that experience compliment each other and give advantage to your prime goal. Six years is not that long time period that things cant be turned, Its great that you have taken break to decide on how to move forward on your career [which most people fail to do]. The most difficult thing to decide (to be honest no one can also help you on this) is to finalize on a single path where you want your career to go forward. Trying different field will not take you anywhere, in order to move forward you have to decide on a single way. You need to take decision based on your talent, skill and interest. Talent has a vast definition but in simple word anything which you can do better than anyone else without putting in extra effort is your talent. So do whatever it takes [travel, go for trekking or a secluded place where you can be all alone, consult experts in your field etc. etc.] but decide on your single path as early as possible and that will take you ahead in your life and career. read less
