"I had contacted Ms.Shambhavi in May for singing classes for my son. After many conversations, we finalised the days & timings for the classes. I also agreed on the fees being charged. Throughout the month, she kept changing the days and timings which I agreed since it was lockdown time & all at home. Suddenly after a month she abruptly stopped classes and said i will get back each time when I asked. By this time my son had got very fond of singing and was looking forward to the classes and asked me everyday when is the singing class. This continued for 2 weeks and each time there was a different reason given, when I asked again she mentioned that she cannot take classes as the timings don't match with other 2 kids and I need to look for more students. I did mention that only when she confirmed about the days & timings ,did we move ahead, now after a month when my son is looking forward, it is not fair on her part to do this. To which she mentioned, I will see if there are more students and then get back. This review is to not just to mention the unprofessionalism but also the insensitivity a teacher has shown towards child psychology, an important aspect which is required when you deal with kids. I"

Hey Vinci,
I would suggest to you; please start learning Indian classical Vocals. To answer your second question I would say, learning Indian classical, it's basics and making improvisation in ragas will give you a reasonable control over your voice, rhythm, patterns. Once you start understanding the emotions involved in Ragas, you will start loving it. If you have a good command over Indian classical, you can easily make patterns in it to go for Western singing with a bit of voice manipulation.
Ultimately Indian classical remain basic.
