Hi, I'm a guitarist and want to learn vocals. Which one should I go with? Is it western, Indian ,Carnatic? And what is the difference between them?

Do all the three in the following sequence.Western, Hindustani, ClassicalLearn Western for its simple structure and the knowledge of harmony.Hindustani for various rages that help you understand and express a range of emotions.Carnatic for microtonal knowledge and proficiency.

However, both western and Indian music will go well. Indian music can help you do fusion and also sing Bollywood songs very comfortably as it creates the base. You may go for western music at a later stage depending on your passion for singing pure western songs. read less
