I am Uma Balakka, a Mathematics and Science tutor with around 8 years of teaching experience. Rather than encouraging students to memorize methods without understanding them, I explain the reasoning behind each solution. This approach helps students recognize patterns, apply the correct methods, and solve problems more independently. While teaching Science, I focus on explaining theoretical concepts clearly and connecting them with practical examples wherever possible. I believe that students understand scientific principles better when they can relate them to situations they encounter in everyday life. My aim is to develop their curiosity, improve their subject knowledge, and help them approach Science with greater interest and confidence. I prepare a lesson plan for each class, beginning with a clear explanation of the topic before moving on to examples and problem-solving activities. I encourage students to ask questions, participate actively, and share their difficulties without hesitation. I also assess their understanding regularly to identify areas that require additional attention. Based on their progress, I adjust my teaching pace and methods to ensure that each student receives the guidance needed to understand the subject thoroughly. I use PowerPoint presentations and a whiteboard to make my lessons organized and easier to follow.
