I am a 56 year old Bharatanatyam dancer and Yoga practioner teaching the same for the last 15 years. I obtained my Vidwat degree from the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board in 1990 and been training students in Bharatanatyam and Yoga for the last 15 years. Having successfully auditioned for Doordarshan Kendra, Bangalore, I have given two solo performances and participated in a group rendition - in the 1990s, besides giving several stage performances at various places in Karnataka. Pupils who have trained under me have successfully given exams conducted by The Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh and done solo and group renditions in Bangalore

Over the years, I have trained students of all age groups, helping them progress from basic steps to advanced performances. I have also performed at various cultural events, which has enriched my understanding of stage presence and performance techniques. Sharing this experience with my students helps them grow not just as learners but as performers. I am passionate about preserving and passing on our cultural heritage in its purest form. At the same time, I enjoy bringing new dynamics into choreography, making learning both traditional and engaging. I have choreographed performances for school and college annual days and other cultural events, which has been a rewarding part of my journey. My teaching style is friendly and supportive, creating a comfortable environment where students can learn and express themselves freely. I focus on building strong fundamentals, including posture, expressions, rhythm, and coordination, while also encouraging creativity and confidence in performance. I offer both online and offline classes and can also guide students in preparing for certification exams. My goal is to inspire students to develop a deep love for Bharatanatyam while helping them achieve proficiency and confidence in this classical art form.
