I have been teaching younger kids in the age group of 6 to 12 years, for the past few years. I believe that this is the most crucial stage as most of the basic foundation of any subject is laid here. Teaching these young children requires patience as well as experience, so as to keep their interest alive in the subjects. I therefore ensure that my classes are very interesting and interactive. All my students enjoy the classes as they are conducted in a fun and interesting way. My main focus is on English, where I teach children, reading writing, speaking and listening skills. These are the most essential of all skills, without which, understanding other subjects becomes difficult too. I assess the students, their current level of understanding and then customise the learning plan. This certainly has helped all my students. I believe that no two students are similar. Everyone is unique and every one requires a unique approach. And therefore all my classes are one on one and not in groups. When it comes to English, understanding the basics of grammar and language rules and applying them in day to day conversations or writing or speaking for that matter are completely different aspects. Many children can speak nicely. But when they are asked to read a story, they fail miserably. And this is where I can make a difference, with my teaching. With constant support and encouragement, and an interactive method of teaching, children will certainly see improvement in their English language skills. I have taught social studies to younger children as well as 9 and 10th graders. I follow the same approach of interactive, fun learning, with the aim of making the child understand the concepts.
