Well this is a very generic question.
The answer depends on use case actually. If the application is a data intensive one then, TestNG data driven framework suits the use case better. However for traditional functional testing a cucumber based hybrid framework is more suitable.
additionally for API testing a Rest Assured based custom framework is more suited.
