Adobe/ Autodesk/ Microsoft Certified Trainer

Adobe Flash, Edge Animate and Toon boom, these are the professional 2D Animation software. Synfig Studio,Pencil these are the basic software to begin with.

I would say 2D Flash is the best - but that's probably because that was the first 2D animation software I had learnt. Now though, I think most 2D animation software would be fine for beginners, as long as they are dedicated to learning it. Before you start learning any 2D animation (or 3D animation) software for the first time though, first learn about and understand what terms like "frame", "key frame", "tweening", and other such terms mean with relation to animation. If you do that, you'll be able to pick up any software with the right teacher and/or tutorials. Another couple of 2D animation software you can start with are Toon Boom, Anime Studio, and Synfig (off the top of my head). Good luck! :) read less

Photoshop is raster base software the most useful one for almost all art & designing base professions. If your choice is video editing then prefer Adobe Premier or AfterEffect. Adobe Flash can be used for creating web base work & light games & animated content. Like this there are so many to use. Decide your goal then choose one of them. read less

Do we have to be good in drawing to learn animation
Drawing is base. The more strong base, more strong building. 2D animation require purely traditional drawing skill. You can use softwares for animation, but it has their own limitation. No software can give you 100% 2D animation.
