Program Design & Planning Another significant area of teaching is designing structured training programs tailored to each client’s goals, fitness level, schedule, and any physical constraints. My experience includes conducting initial assessments (movement screening, flexibility, strength baseline, injury history), setting SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bound ), periodizing the training (e.g. foundation, progression, peak, recovery phases), and adapting programs weekly based on client feedback and progress. I plan warm-ups , main workout sets, accessory work, mobility, cool-downs , and rest/recovery. I’ve seen that thorough, progressive programs both build trust and produce better outcomes. Communication, Feedback & Motivation Effective teaching in personal training is not just showing how to do an exercise—it’s also ensuring clients understand, feel supported, and stay motivated. In my teaching experience, I emphasize clarity: using simple instructions, visual demonstrations, and confirming understanding by asking clients to repeat or demonstrate back.
