As you course is biotechnology the best option for you will be clearing GRE/ TOEFL and try for integrated M.S Ph.D. in USA or some other developed country. This option is however applicable only if you want to pursue a scientific career. As of biotechnology there are very much less opportunities in our country in pvt as well as govt sector. The option for general civil services lIke IAS or IFS/IPS is also open for you through UPSC and your state PSC. If you want to pursue a scientific career in India you will have to first seek admission to post graduate program somewhere. After your post graduation you can think of competitive exams like net or gate and join somewhere as a doctoral candidate. You can also think of MBA from IIMs through CAT examination. It is very important to choose the career path out of the many available ramifications. You must take an account of your likes dislikes and abilities plus external conditions. read less

Hi Simran, If you are interested in the field of research, then i better suggest you to select M.Sc in Biotechnology or Microbiology. During PG you can prepare for competitive exams like DBT-JRF, NET-JRF , ICMR JRF, JGEEBILS for PhD in reputed institutes like IISc, CCMB, IISER etc, if you want to sneak into the industry there is DBT-BITP (Biotechnology Industrial Training Program) exam, if you clear the exam you can select any reputed biotech companies for 6 months project where you get a stipend of Rs10000 per month and you have 90% chance of getting selected in the same company. Nowadays most of the biotech industries prefer M.Sc Chemistry candidates, so if you want to do job in biotech companies you can go for M.Sc Chemistry. If you are wiling to do any jobs or go for civil services you better start applying for civil service exams or bank exams. I hope this was useful. Wish you all the best. read less
