Adjournment is a motion which can lead to censure of government and it is only permitted in Lok Sabha. Rajya Sabha, which is the upper house of the Parliament where mostly members are indirectly elected, is not allowed to use this motion as it can have some serious consequences. However, Rajya Sabha have an another tool 'Calling Motion'. The only difference between Calling Motion and Adjournment Motion is that it doesn't lead to censure of motion. read less
