Do I have to take the TOEFL if I have a Cambridge passing certificate of class 6?

The need for taking the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) depends on the specific requirements of the educational institution or program you are applying to. Cambridge certificates, such as those from the Cambridge English Qualifications, are widely recognized as evidence of English language proficiency. However, whether a specific certificate or test result is accepted in place of the TOEFL can vary. Here are a few points to consider: Check Institution Requirements: Review the admission requirements of the specific institution or program where you are applying. Some institutions may accept Cambridge certificates as proof of English proficiency, while others may explicitly require the TOEFL. TOEFL Exemption Policies: Some universities may have policies that exempt applicants from the TOEFL requirement if they have certain qualifications, including Cambridge English Qualifications. Check the institution's official website or contact the admissions office to inquire about their TOEFL exemption policies. Validity of Certificate: Ensure that your Cambridge certificate is still valid and meets the language proficiency requirements of the institution. Some certificates may have an expiration date. Submit Documentation: If the institution accepts the Cambridge certificate, follow their instructions for submitting the documentation. This may involve including a copy of your certificate as part of your application materials. Contact Admissions Office: If you are unsure about the requirements or whether your Cambridge certificate satisfies the language proficiency requirement, consider reaching out to the admissions office of the institution for clarification. It's important to note that policies can vary among institutions, so it's crucial to directly check with the specific universities or programs you are interested in. Always follow the application instructions provided by the institutions, and if there is any doubt, seek clarification from the admissions office. read less
