"Very rude, unethical, didn't inform about holidays before took money for whole month and gave classes only for two days and keeps behaving as she owns you and have to do things as per wish. If she has problem giving holidays is ok and we need to understand her last minute not taking classes. My child had a fever of 102 and I was busy tending her and told her can't attend class today, she told won't take this class again and kept sending rude messages and ringing as if I should attend her wimps rather than my sick child. Horrible experience and won't recommend her at all. "

"I have seen people adding negative reviews about the class who have not even met the teacher or never had any contact with her. So please ignore such reviews. I am a student of nrityansh academy of dance from past 2 years. I can say that this is one of best academy for kathak where you can learn kathak as well as other dances as per the programs. The teacher herself has completed masters in kathak with many years of experience. She has a great knowledge about dance and classical arts. My dance has improved highly after joining the academy. Will highly recommend it to everyone. If you are really interested in improving your dance skills and learning kathak professionally you should definitely join. "

Banaras gharana is the less known gharana of Kathak. It is also known as "Janki Prasad " Gharana. Janki Prasad ji was brother of famous tabla maestro Pt. Ram Sahaye ji. Dancers of this gharana was also from Rajasthan.
According to the knowledgeable people of kathak, in Rajasthan kathak was known for Shyamal Das gharana which was later divided into two as Jaipur gharana and Banaras gharana.

Both dance styles are beautiful....
But i think so kathak is easy to start learning in any age as there is no difficult poze to start with... you just need to stand in V shape leg movements and start doing basic footwork patterns learned by your Guru/ teacher.
In bharatnatyam, first you have to learn half sitting position which is not easy for everybody. In early age students till 15 years... when your body is much flexible you can start basic bharatnatyam dance..
I am kathak dancer but learned bharatnatyam too...so i can say this. As i went through by both styles ☺️
