"The teacher has taken full course fee in advance, rescheduled multiple classes and not completing full 60 min class as well. She increased the fee right after the demo class and post 2 classes handed over the classes to one of her student. After 4 classes she has stopped She has refunded only partially not for all the remaining classes and immediately blocked my number. I want UrbanPro to take action and get my money refunded. I have no way to contact her now. UrbanPro Please check. "

Banaras gharana is the less known gharana of Kathak. It is also known as "Janki Prasad " Gharana. Janki Prasad ji was brother of famous tabla maestro Pt. Ram Sahaye ji. Dancers of this gharana was also from Rajasthan.
According to the knowledgeable people of kathak, in Rajasthan kathak was known for Shyamal Das gharana which was later divided into two as Jaipur gharana and Banaras gharana.

Both dance styles are beautiful....
But i think so kathak is easy to start learning in any age as there is no difficult poze to start with... you just need to stand in V shape leg movements and start doing basic footwork patterns learned by your Guru/ teacher.
In bharatnatyam, first you have to learn half sitting position which is not easy for everybody. In early age students till 15 years... when your body is much flexible you can start basic bharatnatyam dance..
I am kathak dancer but learned bharatnatyam too...so i can say this. As i went through by both styles ☺️
