Sarfaraz Ahmad Sofi

Sarfaraz Ahamad Sofi served as an Assistant Professor (Contractual, 2024–2025) in the Department of Library and Information Science at Government Degree College, Akhnoor, Jammu. He is currently a Research Scholar in the Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Kashmir, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. He completed his B.Sc. from Government Degree College, Bemina, Srinagar, and his M.Sc. in Electronics and Instrumentation from the Department of Electronics, University of Kashmir. He also holds a CLIS from IGNOU, along with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Library and Information Science from the University of Kashmir. He has presented papers at several national conferences and seminars and has qualified UGC-NET in 2023, 2024, and 2025. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Computer Applications (ADCA) and has technical knowledge of mobile networks, optical fiber communication, computer networks, and electronic networks. His current research interests include Open Educational Resources, Artificial Intelligence, open access, bibliometrics, digital libraries, semantics, and information retrieval.
