Hello , Government Job is nowadays a dream for every youngster in our country. The one and only reason is that they will enjoy higher salary, status in the society, stability in their career, promotions, leave benefit etc. But choosing the career is the most important thing to start your journey for competitive exams. Here starts the confusion for choosing which competitive exam to prepare for! Before sharing views on the comparison of both the exam, let us know what both the exams are all about. Let’s start with UPSC Exam. UPSC Exam, also known as civil services exam (IAS), is a National Level Exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission to select candidates for various public services offered by the Govt. like Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Services (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS). And, SSC CGL Exam is a Graduate Level Examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to select candidates for the posts like Inspector, Assistant, Auditor etc. under various govt. departments. Now, let’s move on to discuss both the exams and post journey. Duty/ Responsibility Civil Services Candidates have to make policies, reforms etc. whereas SSC CGL candidates will join administrative work. Selection Process The process of selecting candidates via both the exams are different. But, IAS exams are much tougher than SSC CGL exam. Salary/ Growth Salary of IAS officers are much more than the candidates who get posts after clearing CGL. As far as both the exam are respectable but the growth and status that you get in UPSC Jobs is much higher than SSC CGL Jobs. Thanks :) read less
