Proper Noun - A proper noun is the name of some particular person or place. Proper nouns are always written with a capital letter at the beginning,

e.g. Jack, Mary, Calcutta, London, Sun, Moon, Earth, East, West, Hindu, Bengali, etc. 

Common noun - is a name given in common to every person or thing of the same class or kind.

e.g. pen, book, paper, pencil, boy, girl, chair, toy, cow, dog, town, city, country, window, lorry, train, water, fan, suitcase, house, shirt, shorts, cup, knife, bed, box etc.

Collective Noun - A collective noun is the name of a number of persons or things taken together and spoken as one whole,

e.g. army, herd, flock, team, mob, group, fleet, jury, family, nation, parliament, committee, class etc.

Abstract Noun - An abstract noun is usually the name of a quality, action, or state considered apart from the object to which it belongs,

e.g. honest, bravery, wisdom, goodness, kindness, whiteness, brightness, darkness, hardness, childhood, boyhood, youth, slavery, sleep, sickness, death, poverty, laughter, theft, movement, judgement, hatred etc.
