NEGATIVE QUESTIONS (NON-WH)

STRUCTURE:

Don’t/Doesn’t + Subject + verb – 1st form + object?

Note: Do not add s/es to the 1st form of the verb ( 1st form of the verb given in the verb list ) with any subject used in the conversation when making/framing a non-wh negative question.

  • Subject ‘I’ is always treated as first person in the English language and when talking or making non-wh questions start the sentence with the word Don’t with the 1st form of the verb without s/es.

The below questions shows questioning yourself about your own ability or when someone questions your ability or also when you defend yourself in a situation when something said about you is incorrect.

 

 

  • Don’t I come every day?
  • Don’t I sing well?
  • Don’t I talk to the customers?
  • Don’t I like chocolates?
  • Don’t I love my family?
  • Don’t I speak well?
  • Don’t I respect people?
