"WOULD" CAN BE USED AS BOTH PASSED AND FUTURE FORMS OF "WILL". EX: 1) I WOULD LIKE TO JOIN A GOOD SOFTWARE COMPANY AT CHENNAI. 2) I EXPECT THAT HE WOULD COMPLETE THE TASK IN TIME.

Would is used in a more formal and polite sense and especially in interrogative sentences.

"would" is the past tense form of will. Because it is a past tense it is used: I thought I would be late …… so I would have to take the train.

Would can be used in more than a single way.1-When you are polite, you ask someone-Would you like to have a cup of tea? Yes,I would. 2-We also use would in narration-He said that he would go to Delhi .

Would is used as a modal verb to indicate a conditional or subjunctive mood, or to "soften" what is being said: I would love to see that movie. If I had a hammer, I would use it as often as possible. Would you give me that book, please?
