Try to read English story books, newspaper, watch English movies or news channel etc. Basically immerse yourself into an English speaking environment. you should understand it by understanding the grammar first. For instance, Types of Tenses, verbs, subject, object and its proper structure according to type of tenses.

The order of words may differ and distort the meaning . Best is to listen, speak & keep evolving. If preparing for an exam, learning grammar is imperative ...in that case pay more attention to subject - verb sync, timeline & preposition . Use the substitution method to make more sentences .
