While reading can improve vocabulary and improve spelling errors, day to day talking will boost confidence. Learning grammar can immensely help to correct common errors of tense, verbs. Reading both novels and essay books will improve the span of knowledge and make the language familiar. I also suggest answering comprehensions as the main idea of comprehension is whether we have understood the passage, the various contexts and understood synonyms. read less

You can give him some English storybooks, and ask him to read them. With more and more practice, slowly and gradually, he will start speaking in English.

READ- Help your child find fun English books and light novels like Famous Five/Goosebumps/Secret Seven. LISTEN- If your child likes fairytales, read them one story at a time in the night before they go to bed. SPEAK- Try to speak in English at home. Or, if it is not possible to do that all the time, set a time, for like 1 hour every day, when everyone at home only speaks in English. In the beginning, give them plenty of opportunities to make mistakes, but correct them a few times so that they are not afraid of speaking in English at home. Eventually, you can start fixing them once they increase in confidence. Remember, every child's education starts at home. You don't need to find an environment outside, but create an environment at home to make them more comfortable using English. read less
