Verbs are the actions you do.. Every action you do say the word that describes it in your mind and form a sentence using it. Like for example I'm typing an answer for you. Here typing is the verb. Using the words in your daily language helps you to grasp it quickly.

All action words are called verbs; so, any action you do with your sense organs is verb like walking, laughing, sleeping, talking, running etc.

Please follow these suggestions: 1. When you read a news paper, magazine or a book, concentrate on the verbs consciously. See how the verbs are used and with what effect. Verbs are the most important parts of speech; you can never frame a sentence without it. Add as many verbs as possible to your vocabulary. Make sure you use the right verb for the right occasion. Lack of adequate repertoire of verbs is one of the reasons for not being able to speak or write fluently. 2. Never use a verb (or any part of speech for that matter) without knowing its proper meaning. If in doubt, refer to a good dictionary. 3. Select a paragraph from a printed script, remove the verbs and try to fill it yourself. Later see how close you are to the actual word. This is a good exercise to master verbs. 4. Closely observe the collocation - i.e. how verbs go with other parts of speech such as nouns and adverbs. Look at these: Some common verbs have do make have a bath have a drink have a good time have a haircut have a holiday have a problem have a relationship have a rest have lunch have sympathy do business do nothingyou have not suc ceeded. do someone a favour The list is endless. Make a mental note of these things when you read.
