How to avoid teaching English at the expense of our Native Languages? Rabindranath Tagore in his visit to Chennai in 1934 took a firm stand in favour of cultivating regional languages. On May 7, Rabindranath Tagore, had he lived, would have turned 154. While it is absolutely important to cultivate regional languages it wouldn't be unnecessary to develop our English speaking skills especially in today's modernised corporate world. Regional languages are for the government jobs.
