6 Tips & Tricks to continue the Habit of Speaking English Language in Daily Life

Hello friends and students and welcome to  Indian Institute of Professional Development - IIPD & Today we will share top tips on how to improve your English language.

I know even if you people are learning or have learned English language but still fail to communicate and start speaking again in your mother tongue or in Hindi language. These are the most common issues but how to sort it. This is what the trick is.

1. Slow down your speaking speed: No need to run to complete sentence. Just control it by understanding, listening  & then only speak with softness. Remember no body will go against you. If people want to listen you, they will be patiently waiting for your ideas. Speak words louder and widely opening your mouth and spelling it out clearly.
Tip: Imagine as if you are speaking or explaining your words or sentence to a deaf person. Then your rate will be in control.

2. Think before you speak & remove all shy & fear in you:
It simply means give yourself some seconds to design that word in your mind. You might think other person will become impatient and bore, but that's not true. Be relax and try to answer clearly since you have took time to think, you will definitely speak right. So speak with confidence & without any fear or shyness and use phrases and simple sentences to answer.

Eg: If someone ask you where are you so busy these days?
Then remember you don't need to tell them all your work list. Your reply must be simple and clear.
"Hello, Yes I was busy with my new job duties added to my role. Will meet you soon"

3. Learn complete sentences: Learn proper sentences & phrases and use them. Eg: I am fine and hope you are having a good day- As per situation answer it.

Some commonly used phrases, you can start your conversation:

  1. Hi,What’s up?: Just a standard inquiry with little or no direct meaning.
  2. Thanks for asking, I’m fine, how are you?: Atypical response and counter-question to a greeting phrase ‘how are you?’
  3. OK, here’s the thing: Avery handy way to start making your point if you’re not sure how to begin the sentence.
  4. As far as I know, when you’re 99% sure about the statement you’re making. Also a good start of a response you want to take a bit more time to consider what you’re going to say.
  5. I was wondering if: This is a beautiful way to strike up a conversation with someone you might know, yet you haven’t spoken to them too often.
  6. It’s good to have you here!: Sometimes you may want to make the new person feel welcome at the party or event, so this is what you tell them to make them feel included.
  7. I’d like you to meet someone: This is a typical way of introducing a new person to one or more people.
  8. Sure, no problem: Atypical response to a small request you’re happy to do. And many more.

4. Learn to appreciate others: In this way people will listen you and you will also learn good adverbs that will make anyone happy and you will also get appreciation for your practice on the English improvement.
Eg: Wow, you cook very well mom.

5. Paying Attention, Note keeping, games & Reading Aloud: It means pay attention when others speak & note it in notepad or phone notes, instead of using what’s app. Also you can download words games that help you to learn new words.

Games like: Power Vocab, Word bucket, Crosswords etc.

As this will help you to learn more new words from others as well. You learn as you listen and will catch new words and learn it's usage. And will not forget words. And most importantly read, read and read books, let it be a simple story book of 10th std. But read it and read aloud.

6. Practice & Preach: Use it everyday and do it before mirror so that you can see how you loo when you speak a word and also record your voice and speak a paragraph and then listen and note the time. Again speak the same para and this time try to speak it more definable and see the difference.

These are the trips that will help you to start & continue speaking in English. So continue learning and upgrading your speaking skills along with personality development and presentation skills to be an outstanding personality altogether.

Never give up!
