My child, doesnot want to study. Teachers say that he can do, but he doesnt do at all. He doesnt want to. Can you help how can he be encouraged to study ? Knowing that all normally known efforts and morals and lectures and necessities have been told him, yet he doesnt care. Only enjoyment is the funda. If we donot provide the facility, he would create the home a hell and might even dare to harm. Any advise pl.?

To start with, you may try to shorten the study duration, 20mins -half an hour. Rote learning can be a problem. Instead of asking him to pick a book and study right away, you may try to have a discussion about the chapter first. So whichever topic you want him to learn that day, have a discussion on it. Guide him through the topic by asking him simple questions and build the information on it. Then ask him to read the lesson. Since now he already has some knowledge about the lesson, he might find it easy to recollect while reading. read less
