The Spanish language did not fell out of favor in the Phils. The Spaniards forgot to teach it publicly - to popularize it. Then, the Americans came and sent American teachers (The “Thomasite”) to bgin the public education in English. Which tells us that the Americans are more intelligent than the Spaniards. Spain had over 300 years to teach the Spanish language in putblic shools. Well, there were no public schools then. The Americans immediately opened public schools teaching English. It’s more of a lazy, unintelligent, lackadaisical Spain than anything else. read less
