Flemish and French are not very similar languages, although Flemish (which is essentially a dialect of Dutch) does have some French influence due to geographical proximity, particularly in pronunciation and vocabulary

Flemish is a kind of Dutch language spoken in Flanders, while French is a Romance language, so they are not closely related, and Flemish speakers can understand Dutch speakers, but not French speakers.
