No it wont as our traditional musical theory is different from the Opera. You can consult a good voice trainer for this

Yes, you can start. Its good to start at 7 if they are intrested, and yes obviously they can easily grasp. The only thing is required that they should have a singing voice. Many artists started at the age of 6 too.
