Shivam Kumar

I am a History postgraduate (M.A. History, 70%) and UGC-NET qualified with a percentile score of 98.5. My academic interests extend beyond formal study to extensive exploration of India’s historical heritage through field visits to important archaeological, cultural, and historical sites.
I have visited and studied major historical monuments and heritage locations including the Shore Temple and Pancha Rathas at Mahabalipuram, the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Chandni Chowk, Humayun’s Tomb, and the medieval cities of Delhi. These visits have helped me develop a practical understanding of Indian history by connecting historical texts with real-world monuments, architecture, and cultural landscapes.
I have also explored the Mahabodhi Temple and studied the life and teachings of Gautama Buddha, including an interest in Vipassana meditation and Buddhist philosophy. My approach to history combines academic research with on-site observation, enabling students to understand history not merely as dates and events but as a living record of human civilization.

As a tutor, I aim to make history engaging, analytical, and relevant. I can teach Ancient, Medieval, and Modern Indian History, World History, Historiography, and topics related to UGC-NET, CUET, and competitive examinations. My focus is on conceptual clarity, critical thinking, and helping students develop a deeper appreciation of historical processes and cultural heritage.
