SAP MDM (Master Data Management) and SAP MM (Materials Management) serve different purposes in the SAP ecosystem. SAP MDM focuses on managing and harmonizing master data, such as customer, vendor, and product information, to ensure consistency across an organization's various systems. It helps maintain accurate and uniform data for efficient business processes. On the other hand, SAP MM is a module within SAP ERP that deals specifically with materials management and procurement. It covers processes like procurement, inventory management, material valuation, and vendor evaluation. In summary, while SAP MDM is primarily concerned with managing master data across the enterprise, SAP MM is focused on the procurement and management of materials within the supply chain. read less
