SAP MDM (Master Data Management) and SAP MM (Materials Management) serve different purposes in the SAP ecosystem. SAP MDM focuses on managing and harmonizing master data, such as customer, vendor, and product information, to ensure consistency across an organization's various systems. It helps maintain accurate and uniform data for efficient business processes. On the other hand, SAP MM is a module within SAP ERP that deals specifically with materials management and procurement. It covers processes like procurement, inventory management, material valuation, and vendor evaluation.
