Srinath, Career in SAP is a good choice you have made. SAP has become an ocean. Where to begin would may not be right question. I would suggest to go with your educational background and interest. If you have an computer engineering background you can choose the technical side of SAP ( ABAP, XI, BI/BO, Fiori., BASIS ). Again the question is, what interests you more? Programming/System Administration? . If you are more interested in business process/analysis with an MBA the common suggestion would be to go with functional side of SAP (FI/CO, SD, MM, PP ...). Whichever option you choose, the learning curve will be sharp ( meaning you will have to learn a lot in short time ) and getting first job is not a cake walk. If you have strong skills then small companies can hire you. Decide for yourselves.. read less

SAP is an ERP Software. It is divided into two parts - Technical and Functional. SAP is predefined Software. If you want to take Technical Module you should have basic knowledge in Programming. But as I say SAP is predefined Software you are not going to develop any software like in JAVA and dot net. Instead, you are going to customize the software according to client Requirement. Then comes to functional Modules - There are more than 70+ Modules in SAP. Based on Qualification and Experience you can choose related Functional Module. If you are Finance Graduate - You can choose SAP FICO, If you are marketing Executive or Marketing Experience then you can go for SAP S&D, If you have HR Qualifications or experience you can go for SAP HR. Like this, you can choose the module as per your qualifications and experience. From marketing point of view SAP has positioned HANA well and it is gaining popularity. I cannot believe that traditional DBs will still be used 10 years from now as we have reached a point where main memory is cheaper and processing power can scale up a lot with parallel processors. Technology companies will leave no stone unturned to transform/create products leveraging on the hardware technologies. And businesses will be quick to implement these products. HANA is one such product that you can safely put your bet on. In the possibility it fails, you have nothing to loose as fundamentals of HANA are no different than any competing product. read less

That is not necessary go for SAP MM Certification. Most of candidates are working and getting good salary package without certification. Basically you have to start your training.

Hi everyone,my qualifications are:- Graduation in B.tech (ECE), MBA in Marketing and had an 1 and half yr work experience in project management/Product management in product based company.
